First, I would like to say upfront that I haven't purchased the book yet (but judging from the favorable reviews, this day is not far off).
I tried to give a chance to the known books in this field (Eric Evans, Jimmy Nilsson and Martin Fowler) but they were too academic and high level, so I didn't finish any of them.
This might be the book I'm looking for.
What I would to know (since it is not mentioned in the book's description on the page on amazon) is if DDD can be used
in conjunction with SOA and WCF. Since these are the latest buzzwords these days, I was wondering if they can go along with a DDD-centered application.

They most certainly can!  The way I do it is to have my WCF services call my Application layer, which would handle corrdinating the transactions and calls to other Infrastructure objects and Domain Model objects and Services.  Take a look at my other DDD project (http://www.codeplex.com/ncipna) and you will see that type of example (although it is with an .asmx service, the implemnentation is still the same).
